Salvador Fernando Miguel Karadima FariƱa (born August 30, 1930) is a renowned Catholic priest in Chile. He was an important religious influence for many of the high clergy.
In 2010 it was released to the public the existence of a number of complaints against him for the child sexual abuse of his young male apprencies.[1] After an investigation by the Vatican of the Karadima case, Fernando Karadima was on January 16, 2011, convicted of "sexually abusing minors" and abuse of ecclesiastical power and ordered him to retire.[2]
